Altia Eesti Ltd. was established in 1991 when Estonia regained independence. The company then was known as Ofelia and was the first alcohol producer, which started production after termination of the alcohol monopoly. In 1994, the majority of shares were bought by leading Finnish wine and spirits house Altia Corporation and today, is 100 percent-owned by the Altia Corporation.
Altia Eesti is the second largest alcohol producer in Estonia who has flexible production facilities and a constantly improving portfolio. Our sales and marketing organisation is one of the leading in the market. Altia Eesti’s most important brand – Saaremaa Vodka – is the leading local premium vodka, which was the first local vodka on the Estonian market since the late 90’s to be systematically brand built. Collective experience has also been utilized in the support of international brands. Among them to have been successfully re-launched onto the market and now among leading brands are Finlandia, Jack Daniel’s, Amarula Cream and Codorníu. We naturally also represent Koskenkorva, which is Altia Corporation’s better-known world brand.
Wine portfolios have been in focus during the last years with our sales volumes quickly increasing and our brands have gained big popularity among consumers. Among the leading brands in our wine portfolio are Tarapaca, Misiones, Distell, Codorníu, Fresita, Laroche, Vicente Gandia, Masi and Kendermanns.
